SPRING RUN 2022 – Saturday April 30th

Just wanted to get this thread started. I took a ride today and it is a repeat of the 2015 Spring Run. Can’t argue with success right!? It will start in CT and end in CT but most of the 85 or so miles will be in Massachusetts, my home state. Today in Otis and Blandford the trees had a nice coating of ice! I have spoken to the end place about lunch and it should be good, though due to inflation, a bit more expensive. And it will be a pre-paid buffet in a private room. I will post details soon, watch the “Events” signup page and of course, this Forum listing. This will be a good mix of winding roads and some highway, some numbered, some narrow slow. No dirt roads.

Yes likewise, my son enjoyed spending time with your grandson!  The poker run in August is definitely 2 person, younger Co pilot, friendly!

Yes…was great day and ride. My grandson Cameron did a great job as Co-Pilot, checking off each instruction on the ride sheet as we went along……until the “Hummm of the Miata’s” put him to sleep at East St. Smell of BBQ, woke him up.

He was thrilled to come along and to meet Lances son Mathew. Maybe we can encourage more youth participation, on these shorter rides. 🙂

Levi – You need to signup on the EVENTS page or you will NOT be one of the 30 cars allowed to ride. Signup for a ride is not done on the Forum.

SPRING RUN 2022 – APRIL 30, 2022

 

Place:           Geissler’s Parking Lot, Granby CT – 9J Bank Street, Granby CT

Time:           10:00 for driver’s meeting, 10:30 SHARP for departure

End Point:     Bear’s Smokehouse & Barbecue, 2152 Poquonock Ave, Windsor, CT 06095

Timing:         End approx. 2:00 p.m. – BRING A SNACK SO YOU REMAIN CONSCIOUS.

 

This will be a good mix of small, curvy roads and some numbered highways. I believe I counted very few traffic lights! Two rest stops along the way (sometimes tough to plan in the early season).

Mostly no rough patches, some potholes but easy to avoid, or maybe by the end of April they will be repaired. Total trip distance, approximately 92 miles. (This would’ve been 85 miles but I had to change the meal stop).

We were really looking forward to a Spring Run but unfortunately this conflicts with the Spring Start-Up at the Connecticut Antique Machinery Association. I’m sure you all will have a great time and I look forward to pictures. If any club members have interest in C.A.M.A. it would be great to see you drop by. The event runs sat/sun and I will have a vendor space. The location for the C.A.M.A. show is at the Eric Sloane Museum 31 Kent Cornwall Rd, Kent, CT 06757
