    Greetings,

I just bought this car and it came with an aftermarket exhaust Corksport muffler.

It is too loud for me but my son loves it!  I wonder if anyone has removed an OEM muffler and is willing to sell it to me. I think the OEM muffler fits the 2016-18 manual trans models  (PE2R-40-100).

I just took my stock muffler off my 2022 RF Manual. Would that work?

    Thanks for the offer, Abraham.

My Pm is for the 2016-2018 models,  I have not found the PN for your model. But several aftermarket exhaust system sellers combine their options for 2016-2022. So it may work.

I will continue to check for compatibility with the OEM part number.

If anyone knows for sure, let me know. Thanks

    Steve-

Searching miata.net looks like they are interchangeable. One thread of many:

Post #9 from Kieth Tanner himself

Unfortunately for Abraham, looks like it isn’t worth a huge amount:

    Thank you Dave!

You saved me from more hours of research. I  think it is worth trying the  OEM ND2 since I am happy with the performance now — even if a small power loss, but passes my butt dyno test I’ll be thrilled to have a quieter muffler.

After attempting to do this quickly at my house…rusty bolts prevented my being comfortable, so off to Bob for the muffler swap and a full 4 wheel alignment today

    Greetings,

I am delighted to report that Joe’s swap of his OEM muffler for my Loud Muffler was completed today thanks to Joe’s generosity and Bob’s excellent installation at Adams Service Station, 860-806-1753 (Oakville). The sound driving home was lovely and just right!

I also received a (much-needed) bonus by having Bob do the “Flying Miata spec” alignment.  I recently bought the car and was assured that it had been aligned. Indeed it was within the very broad specs of Mazda, but every wheel had different settings and of course, none were Flying Miata specs. NOW they all are exactly correct. Thank you, Bob.
