    Hi everyone,

    • I’m Yelena and I bought my first miata last August and drove it from Texas back to Connecticut. Now that it’s driving weather again, I’m looking forward to getting it out on the road more and teaching it how to socialize with other miatas. I’m in Greenwich and hoping to make it to the meetup on the 15th.

Sounds like you did your research – this car will definitely check off those boxes for both learning on and having a blast driving. The 91 BRG and 95 Merlot are typically in the top 5 NA colors for desirability for those looking. Hard to beat that classic green and tan combo!

    Welcome…

You drove the BRG to CT from TEXAS!!…very cool…and brave for a first time owner.

Brent is now in TX and president of his local club.  But…he gets back her around holiday time

    Hi Brent,

I knew I wanted a NA (because pop-up headlights) and post short-nose crank (honestly I would be hard-pressed to explain the problem it presents, but research suggested I’d be happier this way) which brought me to 1991 or later; and I love a dark green car (Bullitt’s fastback, e-type jag, mk3 golf). I toyed mightily with the mica merlot (because two of them came and went for sale while I was waiting for a brg in driver condition), but in the end I’m glad I waited. I’ve even grown to love my gold wheels.

As for why a miata, well I’ve managed to live my entire life not knowing a thing about cars and wanted one that would be easy to learn on while being fun to drive and unlikely to bankrupt me in repairs.

Welcome to the madness Yelena! Joining the club to partake in events, explore back roads, and meet other owners who share the joy of the car is what makes Miata ownership so great.

You picked a great first Miata – the 91 BRG you have there is my favorite model and color combination they’ve made in 32 years. What made you interested in getting a Miata and choosing that particular one?
