2016 6MT 104,000 miles. Became stubborn to engage first and reverse a while ago. Lately, it has been making a whirring propeller- like sound. Shop says I need a new tranny but it’s back- ordered. At least my used car warranty is covering it. Bummed because some nice days are coming and I could be waiting weeks.

Many thanks Lance, but I’m getting a brand new transmission under warranty. I just have to wait a bit.

Supply chain issues may be affecting shipments, but they tell me there are none in North America.

Maybe you could offer it to the Miata Club as a backup.

    Hey Mike!

I have a V3 that grinds from time to time in 3rd.  Has 48k miles on it.  And it will be available hopefully within the next month as I’m upgrading to a V4 with low miles.

    Lmk if you are interested.

Flyin Miata has a NC tranny conversion kit, too. Nearly a plug and play.

I only know that I’m getting a new tranny cause I’m told “they don’t make parts for the early versions”.

Not sure which version I end up with. Since they aren’t readily available, I may not have a choice of versions. Any new tranny, I would assume would be the latest version.
