ND Sway Bar

I decided to order a Flyin’ Miata sway bar kit and the mount reinforcement kit.

I wanted to wait for next year but I couldn’t take the body roll during auto-x anymore.

From what I can tell from my research I’m in for a world of pain with the front bar installation. Has anyone here done it before? Is it as bad as they say?

Hey Levi-

I seriously considered the Karcept bar. I decided against it because they mention some risk of increased NVH on their site and the front bar and reinforcement kit (since I intend to keep stock springs for now) would be significantly more expensive than the FM equivalent.

Perhaps doing Karcept in the front and then another brand’s bar in the rear would have been the better combo of cost and installation ease.

 

 

It is easier to remove the old swaybard if you have the car up in the air.  You can find youtube how to by Flynn’ Miata.

My install was the easiest, cut the old swaybar wings and slide it out.  Install new Karcept front sway bar (it comes in 3 pieces + adjustable end-links).  This will not work for you (see above)

I have not personally done it…but I have heard the horror stories

 

Might want to reach out to clubmembers Lance Lazarra and Robert Meany…I think their scars have healed by now…lol!!
