    Hi everyone-

I recently put a GWR SuperStreet twin tip muffler on my ND RF and unfortunately I’ve been having an issue with it.

I seem to be getting a squeak noise over bumps (some days it’s more of a rear end clunk). I’m 95% sure that I’ve found the point of contact. I think the muffler stud on the drivers side is rubbing against the hole on the mid pipe.

I’ve tried remounting the muffler to the midpipe a few times but the issue always seems to come back.

Good-win-racing said they have never heard of this issue before and they want me to file down the hole on the midpipe. I would appreciate someone double checking my install before I make irreversible changes to the car.

Any recommendations for a place that I can take it to or anything else I can try?

If I take it somewhere I might as well get the car aligned too!

Well…i can give a recommendation…clubmember Bob Madeux has a small shop in oakville…very Miata friendly…and does great alignments.  he has done 3 clubmember cars in the last 3 weeks…all to FM specs.

I met with Bob Madeux today. Really great to work with he performed an alignment and looked at the muffler. Highly recommend him to anyone looking for a mechanic.

Joe Wall- Bob mentioned that he would be reaching out to you regarding the muffler. Bob said it looked like the flange was not welded onto the muffler straight. Wondering if you had seen something like this before and what you thought the best path forward might be?

    Thanks Again,

    Abe

I just talked to Bob…he suggests contacting Goodwin.  Reluctant to ‘make it work’ in case of a Warranty issue
