Not sure how they could make the MiataX sessions shorter and keep them meaningful. To me 4 hours is already too short 😉
It wasn’t really clear what general admission tickets got you access to. What did paying to join a car corral get you? (Laps on the big track?) I think the pricing and access needs to be clearer next year.
MiataCon and Shootout should be separate weekends. (Just my opinion, Rob may disagree as it’s probably easier for him to compete in both in one weekend 😉 )
I was preoccupied with MiataX on Friday and the Shootout on Saturday, so I probably missed out on a lot of the other activities.
Good to hear, Rob. Hopefully no major issues there and you were able to get some fuel to get home 😂.
Joe, I posted some of my opinions on what could have improved the event in the other thread and yeah, a lot of the same stuff. I was also kind of surprised I had to pay 25 at the gate on Saturday, in addition to the car corral and autox tickets. It’s not a big deal but I wasn’t expecting it. More clarity on exactly what we’re supposed to pay and for what would be great.

Yes the car started cutting out on me during my last two laps so I pulled off. Pretty sure it was just fuel starvation due to low fuel level in gas tank sloshing around (fingers crossed).
I had a 43.602 btw, they wrote the time wrong 😛

Ed Bogue Wins Second Consecutive LIQUI MOLY Autocross Invitational Shootout at Lime Rock Park
Did something go wrong with Rob’s car toward the end of his last timed laps? I left just after he finished. It looked like like he slowed way down. Hope it was ok.
Side note: it was super cool seeing Mike Piera there, he manufactures and modifies guitar effect pedals so it was a worlds-colliding moment for me 😅
Format this year was 2 rounds of 4 timed laps for each driver. Trever had set the track record earlier in the year with a 41.81 lap (the first person ever under 42 seconds) and was leading until Ed Bogue turned in a 41.662 on his 8th and final timed lap to win for the second year in a row. Our own Rob Meany turned in a 43.702 to finish with the 6th fastest time! (not including the cleverly named “Career Change” who is John Murphy, one of the Lime Rock instructors).
This was also the first event that Lime Rock used their new GPS timing system from MyLaps.
Does anyone have a list of the results from the invitational shootout or know where I can find it? Doesn’t appear to be up on the LRP website. Thanks.

Not sure about anyone else…but I had an absolute BLAST this weekend…close to 200 Miatas in the corrals on saturday…lots of Miatas on the autoX course on Friday…Bob Meany in the shootout on Saturday…a bunch of folks venturing to the campground to spectate saturday afternoon
and socialize…SPECTACULAR weather…if you were not there, you missed out on a great all Miata experience.
It was really a fun event. Could not ask for a better weather.
Also works if you have a friend with a camera take pictures of your car!
I found the video from LRP’s live feed at MiataCon. The link is cued to the beginning of the parade lap. If you’d like a photo of your Miata on the straightaway, just do a screen shot and paste it into an app like Paint, and save it as an image file.

Again a congrats to our club member Robert Meaney for taking home the nice 1st place trophy with a blazing time.
If you are signed up for the car coral you MUST BE at Lime Rock no later than 11:00 AM! Group photo and mandatory driver’s meeting!

Saturday’s Auto-X is the FCP Euro end of year finale / invitational only. And it is for the fastest cars of the year (all cars types).
That is separate from MiataCon.
You can use your spectator / corral to get in anytime tomorrow.
If you were in Miata-X TODAY Friday afternoon session 1-5 then there is an arrival restriction. I hope that helps.
So is it really confirmed that on Saturday spectators of AutoX and the track sessions can’t arrive early in the morning to watch? That was my original plan and then participate in the ND corral around lunch. Seems really, really odd they would do that

FYI I just got an email telling me to arrive no earlier than 12:15 for the afternoon session tomorrow… We can’t hang out earlier and watch the racing? Seems a bit ridiculous. Oh well, more time to get things cleaned up for Saturday.
For those wondering when to be there on Saturday….I know 7am is early for me but I was told you would need to be there for a meeting at 11am if you want to do the parade laps….

I just checked motorsportsreg. I apparently now owe $50, and my registration is not complete until payment is made – although I paid in full and got the $50 discount email. Also, I don’t see any entries listed. Is there another place where we can see who’s registered?
Was just looking at the event page signup list…which i KNOW is incorrect because we have 11 members signed up for the autoX and not all of those names are actually on that list…

Weather’s indeed looking decent so far! Hoping to get plenty of hot Miatacross laps in on Friday as I have to bug out early or right at 5. Any idea what time to get there on Saturday? A little update…
I had a conversation with Steve Huntley, the LRP autoX guy, on thursday afternoon. During the course of our conversation we did discuss the cost of the autoX. Well, he did verbally offer NMC members a $50 discount, IF we can get 10 members to sign up, morning or afternoon. This would be applied retroactively once that number is reached.
I am waiting for WRITTEN verification of this offer. (taking a page from the book of Bob…gotta have a paper trail!!)

Definitely an action packed weekend…I will be camping the whole weekend…Thursday afternoon to sunday…and am entered in the Friday afternoon session of autoX
Yeah I’m really looking forward to it. I’m still on the fence about autocross but I might just bite the bullet. I took the whole weekend off work because the featured mark of the FCP Euro meet on the same Sunday is VW so I’ll be driving to Lime Rock 3 times that weekend 😂

I talked to Steve over at Planet Miata in PA today. Looks like they will have some sort of presence at Miatacon. couple of racecars and possibly a vendor booth setup of some sort.
These guys have been in the previously loved Miata parts business for many years. I have been to their shop. They have a warehouse full of stuff. If you are looking for something NA/NB related…they usually have what you are looking for. I got an absolutely GORGEOUS rear finish panel for a clubmember car last month.
