Is TOP TIER gas worth the price?

Not only the grade, but the brand… The answer is yes according to the results of a AAA study referenced in a recent Consumer Reports article.  ( see link below)

Top Tier gasoline had 19 times fewer carbon deposits on injectors, intake valves, and in the combustion chamber when compared to regular gasoline.

AAA also found Top Tier gasoline can have a cleansing effect, reducing intake valve deposits by 45 to 72 percent when used over a 5,000-mile interval.

My car knows, so I only use premium gasoline from Shell, Sunoco, BP, Mobile, etc.

On a side note, My BBR turbo loves ethanol-free (100%) 93-100 octane gasoline.  No additional ecu tune required.

 

I’m surprised to see Gulf is not a top tier gas.

Costco all the way baby! I’m already there buying toilet paper anyway:)

With a list as comprehensive as that, you would have to make quite an effort to buy non Tier 1 gas.
