What a wonderful day!!!…lots of folks showed up because the rain actually held off!! Most of the day was dry, a few sprinkles, but nothing like what the weather guessers had predicted.
As always, Dave was a wondrful host…and clubmembers went all out on the chili cookoff thing…plenty to choose from and all offerings were delicious.
Winner?…Brent…our relocated to Texas member…I even voted for his chili!!
Thank you to all clubmembers that ventured out today…it was really nice seeing a bunch of faces that are not frequent attendees…and a couple of NEW members too!!

I was going to suggest he use the radiator as a vessel for the chili. Glad someone came up with a better idea.
By the way, I won’t be making it out tomorrow, sorry.. 102 fever and covid test incoming.

i got this…
Take the radiator out of the box…put it in the trunk…yes, it will fit
Put the pot of chili in the passenger side floorboard…in a shallow cardboard tray
I have been dealing with stuff like this for 17 years of driving Miatas. I even put a used MOTOR in my NA…ok, I did remove the passenger seat
a pot of chili and a radiator is a piece of cake

How am I supposed to fit a big thing of chili in a Miata with a radiator?

What Joe said, I’ve got about 41 chairs for simultaneous sitting, with the finished basement. European model says a washout, North American model say 0.2″ of scattered showers, let’s hope for the latter.

Yeah definitely just the hydraulics, Clutch itself will probably be next year 😉
I’ve done the radiator on my NA so i can help there. It’s a breeze as long as you don’t lose those damn c-clips for the bottom mount. I’ll bring extra 😂

Nobody panic! See below, James is doing the hydraulics, not a clutch 😂
As I understand it we have on the agenda:
2 Radiators/Coolant flush- Patrick and Randell (previously discussed in person)
Possible IAC to test Randell’s
Clutch Hydraulics- James
Squealing belt- Dave
Sounds very doable, even if we have a little rain 👍

I have my clutch parts in hand so still looking forward to it! ill more than likely be bringing my 8 year old son with me as my wife is out of town. He loves the Miata and can turn a wrench and operate a screwdriver but has the attention span of a gnat.

Dave,
If you win the chili contest your odds greatly improve! 😂😉 Sounds like an easy fix, I’m sure we can find someone to help out.

I would appreciate it if someone could take the time to help me diagnose and fix a squeaky drive belt.
it’s only about a year old so I’m thinking it just needs to be tightened.

SO I’ve been keeping an eye on the forecast for Saturday… and it keeps getting worse and worse! But the good news for those who have not attended one of the tech days here before, there is lots of room inside. I am setting up lots of seating, kitchen, living room, big screened porch, and basement. I will have pop-ups in front of the garages for working on cars.
We can control a lot of things, just not the weather. We will work on cars, we will have a great chili competition with lots of side dishes, we will have a good time socializing and geeking out about our cars.
Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday! And who knows the weather guessers still have a few days to change their minds.
Dave

I’m thinking about doing the master/slave and braided hose line on my clutch. At the very least it needs to be bled, but I’m thinking I might as well replace the 27 year old parts as well. Probably order the kit from Supermiata. I keep reading that the master needs to be bench bled but I have absolutely no idea how to do that so hopefully someone else does 😅

Patrick,
That’s awesome, love the variety. Other than a couple empty containers for the old coolant (milk jugs or the like) sounds like you’re all set.
