Chirping noise sounds like coming from left front with top up or down.   Feels like it could be a suspension noise and can’t really id the exact location.  Seems more noticeable a few minutes after driving.  Mazda hasn’t been able to determine any issue.  What do you think Miata-ers?

Glad to (not 😉) hear it! I do have to give credit where credit is due. Gerry Downs was the one who clued me in on the trick… on my own car probably 5 or 6 years ago.

    Hi Dave,

Turns out your ‘cheap and easy’ solution worked LIKE A CHARM.  Thanks man.

Chirping on the NA is many times the speedo cable…speed related…temperature also…slight wiggle of the speedo needle

May or may not be your issue, but I had a chirp that was driving me nuts and I wrapped the hood latch with a little electrical tape and it went away. I’ve seen this same problem on several NAs, worth a shot, and it’s cheap and easy. I have to replace the tape every year or so.

    Dave
