Just got the car back from the dealership. They will be replacing the transmission under warranty. They couldn’t share any more details on the root of the problem. They said that Mazda didn’t feel the need to pay for any further diagnosis.
Unfortunately the transmissions are backordered until September! So it seems I’ll have a whiny car until then.
